I Will Only Say This (Greed & Economics)

You so well-steeped in ideas & dress
and now all I can say is this

You cannot truly live a good life lest
breathed well and consumate

But today & tomorrow your breath at best

is churlish deep as legion and imitation

Disappearing coins a minor complication
you say hands up in mystification

Valentine

This morning I heard wind gusting
against the windows rattling
Morse Code
Heart Heart Heart

You my heart my love my forever
when I met you and I do remember
the night we went up Broadway

* * *

Love is unconditional incandescent
illuminating Love the open heart
you my love now all windows open

Love unconventional & intelligent
guiding Love the pathway
to you & a Happy Valentine’s Day!

One Bike (for Cliff On His Birthday)

Hog-wheeled & tarmac-bound
chrome-and-black & Harley-grown
one bike and one tough man. . . .

One bike and one tough man
bound to get to Az'bararistan!
a mythic place in a mythic land. . . .

Fat Tuesday Lament & Thought

Systemic & common
mask & masque despite destruction
by rain & wind & government
now crowded into streets feeding hearts
the history & desire of New Orleans

Mon ami - les gumbo & jambalaya
is touristed an attraction
not legacy
a stronger mapwork is The Big Easy
not merely entertaiment
all that jazz & a colorful parade

Dreams Are

Dreams are just like this
mint tools waiting

maybe this morning
you do remember

to pick up and apply

I Have Read Thus (for George Carlin)

I have read thus
that an astronaut and/or secret agent

(2 of tomorrow's cooler jobs
both of movies and/or of insurance)

cannot speak without something
high-tech hand-held or otherwise . . .

And equally spatial or special
the connecting nozzle speaks

("Shit in s
hit out . . .
you get what you pay for")

like some threaded vacuum hose
"hosing" our house

Air Crash

Gray bunkered clouds
chimney smoke pluming
an iced-over plane went down

no one - passengers or crew alive
and in the box black (by word)
& waterproof'd orange for sight

are the blinking, beeping & weeping
last words wired together
testament of what was preceding
