laughter despite loss or gain

recall a nest of future-past
of people/thoughts always laughing

While raw here cold rain
reminding one of winter
north there's a sticking snow
first of the season

I wonder looking at bleakness
when droning rain will turn
streets & parks white
bare trees leaf'd with ice
